Who is that mysterious Man in Green?

Short piece about the work currently done by The Man in Green.

Hi, I'm Steven Davies, the sole trader of Man in Green. This is a bit of information about me and the work I am currently involved in.

Firstly I would like to thank you for visiting my website. I not only offer images for sale, but I also offer a service of photography whether it is pet portraits, or event photography. Either of these can be done at a cost dependant on the request by the client.

Through my BSc in Heritage Conservation, where I have been focussing mainly on landscapes, I feel that a distinctive eye towards the landscape has helped develop my approach the landscape photography and voluntary work within the local landscape within a conservation aspect. It has also opened my eye to the beauty of historic buildings and given me a different perspective towards me starting my own business within my my style of photography.

I am currently involved with voluntary work with the National Trust documenting the sort of work that they do in the local landscape to me, The Arnside Silverdale AONB.

This is a lesser known area not often mentioned within the national setting for the Landscape, yet part of the fascinating area of Limestone pavement seen only in this part of Lancashire and stretching into Yorkshire. By visiting the landscape, people can see a unique landscape and the biodiversity within the area.

The work has become a long term project that was started as my final portfolio for a certificate in photographic studies at Lancaster University.

I have continued with the voluntary work through them and recorded the work that they are doing. I would like to use some of this work to show people the sort of work that they do and why they do it.

This could take the form of an exhibition to be shown in a gallery, and there would be no sales of the images used.

After doing this in the local area there may be a possibility to progess throughout other areas photographing their landscape work.

As part of my landscape work, I am also currently doing research into the landscapes of literature as described by such authors as Thomas Hardy, Daphne Du Maurier and James Herriot, photographing the landscapes that they describe within their works. All of whom have a great affinity towards the landscape within the areas that they worked in as part of setting the stories.

I am also starting to work on my own range of greetings cards from my images, so as to be sold locally at the moment, or nationally and internationally by demand of you the client if need be.

Photo-restoration will also soon be available to customers at a competitive price.

Here a number of changes can be made by the request of the customer, as well as the addition of colour to black and white photographs.
